The choice of drying surface influences drying time and the risk of deformation due to moisture accumulation under the sweater.

Towel on a hard surface: the basic solution

The most accessible solution: a clean towel placed on a table, bed, or clean floor. The towel absorbs moisture from the sweater and prevents the sweater from resting in its own water. Disadvantage: the towel quickly saturates and must be changed after 2 to 3 hours—otherwise, the sweater continues to sit in moisture and dries very slowly.

Flat drying rack: the best solution

A flat drying rack (like an oven rack or pastry cooling rack) placed on a raised surface is the best solution for flat drying sweaters. Air circulates both above and below the sweater, reducing drying time by 30 to 40% compared to a solid surface.
