    Designer Electrical Outlet

    Designer outlets: our selection

An electrical outlet stays in view all day, at hand height and often right beside the light switch. A designer outlet treats that detail as part of the interior rather than as a purely functional object. The metal, color, and shape follow the rest of the electrical hardware. Our designer outlet collection includes five ranges, each coordinated with a matching switch family.

    Range Models Finishes Price
VENDÔMESingle outlet, double outletBrushed gold, bronze, aged bronze, brushed silver, gunmetal gray, matte black€35 and €45
ADAMASSingle, doubleBrushed silver, brushed gold, gunmetal gray, matte black€35 and €45
CASSELSingle, doubleBrushed silver, matte black€35 and €45
ASHFORDSingle, double, RJ45Brushed brass, brushed silver, polished chrome, bronze except RJ45€35, €65, and €60
    PORCELLARound, squareWhite, black ceramic€45

Prices therefore range from €35 for a single outlet to €65 for the double ASHFORD. The difference mainly reflects the material and faceplate design.

How to choose a designer outlet

Start with the electrical function you need, then the faceplate format, and finally the finish. For a renovation, also check the wall-box depth and fixing centers before ordering.

Standard wall box: 67 mm diameter.

    Fixing centers: 60 mm.

Typical installation height: around 30 cm from the finished floor for general-purpose outlets.

Double mechanism spacing: 71 mm between centers.

For a coordinated result, choose the outlet and switch from the same range. This keeps the metal tone, faceplate thickness, and edge profile consistent throughout the room.

What designer outlet styles are available?

    • Brushed brass and brushed gold: warm, decorative finishes for classic or contemporary interiors.
    • Brushed silver and stainless-steel looks: clean, understated, and easy to combine with modern kitchens and bathrooms.
    • Matte black and gunmetal: graphic choices that stand out against pale walls.
    • Bronze and aged bronze: suited to period homes and warmer interiors.
    • Glazed porcelain: a more traditional material for retro or country-inspired spaces.

    Matching switches and outlets

The most polished result comes from using the same range for every visible electrical point. A brushed-brass outlet beside a white plastic switch immediately breaks the visual continuity. Match the outlet finish to the designer switches, then repeat that finish on door hardware and, where relevant, bathroom fixtures.

ASHFORD also includes an RJ45 data outlet, allowing network connections to follow the same design language as the power outlets and switches.

    Outlet height and quantity

General-purpose outlets are commonly installed around 30 cm above the finished floor. Above a worktop or vanity, the height depends on the surface and intended use. Keep neighboring outlets aligned and use the same height throughout the room for a cleaner result.

Plan quantity around actual use rather than the minimum number possible. Bedside lamps, chargers, hair dryers, electric toothbrushes, and connected devices quickly turn a single outlet into an extension strip if the layout is underplanned.

    Electrical outlets in bathrooms

Bathrooms are subject to protection zones around the bathtub and shower. Standard outlets must remain outside the regulated zones and the circuit must comply with the applicable electrical safety rules. When in doubt, have the proposed location checked by a qualified electrician.

For the detailed zone dimensions and protection requirements, see our guide to bathroom protection zones and IP ratings.

How to install an electrical outlet

    1. Turn off the relevant circuit breaker and confirm that no voltage is present with a tester.
    2. Remove the old outlet and identify the conductors: line, neutral, and ground.
    3. Connect the new mechanism to the marked terminals, making sure no bare copper remains exposed.
    4. Fit the mechanism into the wall box, tighten the fixing screws, and check alignment.
    5. Clip on the faceplate, restore power, and test the outlet.

Never work on a live circuit. If the wiring colors are unusual, the wall box is damaged, or you are unsure about the circuit, stop and use a qualified electrician.

    Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy designer electrical outlets?

Aéraly offers coordinated outlet ranges in brushed brass, brushed silver, matte black, bronze, aged bronze, polished chrome, and glazed porcelain, with matching switches in the same families.

What is the best designer outlet?

The best choice is the outlet that matches the required electrical function, fits your existing wall box, and coordinates with the rest of the electrical hardware. Material and finish come after those technical checks.

What features are available on designer outlets?

Our collection includes single and double power outlets plus an RJ45 network outlet in the ASHFORD range. Choose the function first, then the finish and faceplate design.

Complete the look with matching designer light switches.
